Professional link building or professional con men?
Link Building
The link building market has seen a huge rise in the number of suppliers in the last 12 months. Are these all professional link building strategists who have just been waiting in the wings?
Why the rise? Simple
- 76% of UK businesses have been dissatisfied with the results of the SEO company they have employed
- 66% feel that they could of achieved more had they undertook the process of promoting their online presence in house (ie themselves)
- 96% of UK business owners want to see tangible proof that work is actually being done (being able to see websites that contain reference (a link) to their business)
- 100% believe that links are the golden key to high Google SERPS
So there is a huge number of UK commercial website owners who are looking for links, great what happens?
Well instead of employing a link building strategist like the famous Benedict Sykes, or creating websites that have that certain informational wow factor that website owners will link to them organically, (or even just emailing similar topic websites with an offer of money) what happens is.....
Spam arrives from Indian link building companies promising the world for a reasonable £300. And do the UK website owners buy, YES they do, and do the Indian link companies deliver, YES 10 new links on equally new websites that have the link value or link strength of exactly nothing.
You asked for links and you got them, but not that high Google SERP you were after.
So professional link builders or conmen, there are both I suppose it is simply a case of you get what you pay for
